Bremsstrahlung Spectrum in alpha Decay
Using our previous approach to electromagnetic emission during tunneling, an
explicit, essentially classical, formula describing the bremsstrahlung spectrum
in alpha decay is derived. The role of tunneling motion in photon emission is
discussed. The shape of the spectrum is a universal function of the ratio Eg/Eo
, where Eg is the photon energy and Eo is a characteristic energy depending
only on the nuclear charge and the energy of the alpha particle.Comment: 8 pages, 3 figure
NMR relaxation time around a vortex in stripe superconductors
Site-dependent NMR relaxation time is calculated in the vortex
state using the Bogoliubov-de Gennes theory, taking account of possible
"field-induced stripe'' states in which the magnetism arises locally around a
vortex core in d-wave superconductivity. The recently observed huge enhancement
below at a core site in TlBaCuO is
explained. The field-induced stripe picture explains consistently other

Real Space Imaging of Spin Polarons in Zn Doped SrCu2(BO3)2
We report on the real space profile of spin polarons in the quasi
two-dimensional frustrated dimer spin system SrCu2(BO3)2 doped with 0.16% of
Zn. The 11B nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum exhibits 15 additional boron
sites near non-magnetic Zn impurities. With the help of exact diagonalizations
of finite clusters, we have deduced from the boron spectrum the distribution of
local magnetizations at the Cu sites with fine spatial resolution, providing
direct evidence for an extended spin polaron. The results are confronted with
those of other experiments performed on doped and undoped samples of

Zeeman Perturbed Cu Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance Study of the Vortex State of YBaCuO
We report a Cu nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) study of the vortex
state for an aligned polycrystalline sample of a slightly overdoped high-
superconductor YBaCuO (92 K) at a low magnetic
field of 96 mT along the c axis, near a lower critical field . We
observed the frequency distribution of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation time
in the Zeeman-perturbed Cu NQR spectrum below . The
characteristic behavior of 1/, taking the minimum values with respect
to temperature and frequency, indicates the significant role of
antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations in the Doppler-shifted quasiparticle energy
spectrum inside and outside vortex cores.Comment: 4 pages, 4 figure
Thermal fission rate around super-normal phase transition
Using Langer's method, we discuss the temperature dependence of
nuclear fission width in the presence of dissipative environments. We introduce
a low cut-off frequency to the spectral density of the environmental
oscillators in order to mimic the pairing gap. It is shown that the decay width
rapidly decreases at the critical temperature, where the phase transition from
super to normal fluids takes place. Relation to the recently observed threshold

Edge Logarithmic Corrections probed by Impurity NMR
Semi-infinite quantum spin chains display spin autocorrelations near the
boundary with power-law exponents that are given by boundary conformal field
theories. We show that NMR measurements on spinless impurities that break a
quantum spin chain lead to a spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T_1^edge that has a
temperature dependence which is a direct probe of the anomalous boundary
exponents. For the antiferromagnetic S=1/2 spin chain, we show that 1/T_1^edge
behaves as T (log T)^2 instead of (log T)^1/2 for a bulk measurement. We show
that, in the case of a one-dimensional conductor described by a Luttinger
liquid, a similar measurement leads to a relaxation rate 1/T_1^{edge} behaving
